FOX Subsea is Developing the First Fully Electric Master Control Package for Modular Subsea Systems

The Norwegian subsea service provider, FOX Subsea, announces the development of their most advanced control system to date – the fully electric MODFOX Master Control Package (MCP) Generation 5.
The MCP is the core component in FOX Subsea’s MODFOX modular subsea control system series, designed to enhance offshore operations. The new Generation 5 MCP replaces traditional hydraulics with electrically driven high- and low-pressure pumps, supporting the industry’s move toward cleaner, safer and more efficient offshore solutions.

The MODFOX MCP is compatible with Work-Class ROV (WROVs) and supports remote operations through FOX Subsea’s Onshore Mission Control Room. The system has a modular design that allows for rapid re-configurations, offering more flexibility and faster turnaround in operations.
Since the start in 2021, FOX Subsea has developed and deployed MODFOX MCP Generations 1 through 4, including the industry’s first standard 15,000 psi system. The Generation 4 MCP was deployed in 2024, following high customer demand. It included in-house developed Subsea Power Pack Units (SPPs), a key advancement that inspired the improvements in the new Generation 5.
